As one of the world’s largest aftermarket shows, attracting almost 5,000 exhibitors from around the world and close to 150,000 visitors from over 170 countries every year; the eyes of the automotive world were cast on Automechanika Frankfurt once again to follow the latest developments across the industry.

This year’s Automechanika Frankfurt didn’t disappoint as DENSO showcased the very latest automotive technology and announced a host of new product innovations and a greater product line-up.

Denso Automechanika 2016

DENSO’s biggest announcement introduced 24 new part numbers to its Rotating parts range including the aftermarket’s first ever Tandem Solenoid (TS) Stop-Start Starter, as the aftermarket innovator continues to lead the way in technology, quality and vehicle coverage.

The all-new TS starter uses a patented co-axial dual solenoid design for the magnetic switch to allow for independent control of the starter’s pinion gear shifting mechanism and motor rotation. This design enables the engine to restart while it is still rotating to reduce restart times by 1.5 seconds compared to conventional stop-start starters, providing the perfect high-quality solution for automatic vehicles.

DENSO’s sleek 320m2 stand in Hall 4, one of the busiest halls at the show, took centre-stage in the middle of the vast network of stalls. As a unique chance for members of the industry to discover more about DENSO’s OE-quality range and meet members of the DENSO team, over 210 meetings were scheduled over the five days. Visitors were able to see a number of product displays and several cut-away samples of its advanced aftermarket parts including interactive hologram and gravity lifter displays showcasing DENSO products.

Product experts and sales teams were on hand to assist show-goers, who could enjoy a range of refreshments while they discovered DENSO’s market-leading range and a variety of digital content. Visitors were also given a glimpse into the future with exciting previews of upcoming product lines yet to be officially announced.

DENSO took the largest aftermarket event of the year as an opportunity to announce several other significant updates to its aftermarket programme. DENSO’s Thermal systems received a host of brand-new applications; with 217 part numbers added to cover an additional 5,800 vehicle references and 369 OE part numbers. Further expansion of the leading A/C Compressor range also introduced 25 new part numbers in September and October to enhance its vehicle coverage with applications for Citroën, Peugeot, Audi and Mercedes-Benz.

DENSO also announced a further update to its Lambda Sensor aftermarket programme. The second range expansion of the year will introduce 6 new part numbers and 34 OE references to develop the advanced EMS aftermarket range. The update will further strengthen the catalogue’s European car parc, supporting 50 more vehicle applications from Audi, SEAT, Skoda and Volkswagen and increased the total European car parc by approximately 3 million vehicles.
