Cabin air filters

Having clean, pure air in your vehicle cabin is beneficial for driver and passenger health and eliminates distractions.

Cabin air filters

How cabin air filters work

Pollutants, smells and irritants can not only distract motorists, they can also become a health hazard if they are not dealt with correctly. Cabin air filters ensure that no harmful substances from the road enter the vehicle cabin, with two options available to purchase: particle filters and combination filters.

DENSO’s particle filters have a multi-layer fleece material that removes dust and solid matter from the air. With a large dust-holding capacity and minimal air flow resistance, they offer exceptional protection from dust, soot, pollen and particles. Our range of combination filters purify the air in a range of ways. First, they capture particles in a close meshed, non-woven filter layer. Then, any small charged particles are held back by electrostatic interaction. Finally, a layer of nanofibers is spun into the filter media, preventing the air pressure from dropping.

This superior technology means you can be sure that a DENSO air filter provides a safe, relaxing in-cabin experience kilometer after kilometer.

Features and benefits

  • Manufactured to OE quality standards.
  • Designed by the world’s number one OE HVAC developer.
  • Extensive range with more than 90% European parc coverage.
  • Super-fine filter traps almost 100% of pollutants and particles.
OE quality
As the world’s number one OE developer of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, you can be sure that DENSO’s air cabin products are manufactured to the highest standard.
Innovative technology
The fleece material is compliant with DENSO’s strict requirements, with a super-fine filtration of up to five layers. This means our filters can remove particles that are more than 100 times smaller than diesel soot.
HVAC compatible
Our cabin air filters are designed to work without causing a drop in air pressure. This protects the vehicle’s HVAC system, ensures superior efficiency and protects from condensation.

Types and characteristics

Our whole range of cabin air filters has been developed to the highest OE standards to ensure that drivers and passengers are protected as they travel.

Cabin air filters types

Particle filters

With five individual layers that trap pollutants and particles as small as 0.01 micrometers, our non-woven fleece material ensures superior performance and protection.

Particle filter part number DCF375 P
Combination filters

With an added layer of carbon and a filter that is sealed to the housing, almost 100% of pollutants, particles and odors are captured in DENSO’s combination filters.

Combination filter part number DCF448 K

Characteristics

Our non-woven fleece material has five distinct layers that capture and remove potentially harmful pollutants and particles journey after journey.

Installation and fault finding

Installing a cabin air filter correctly and ensuring any faults are fixed quickly will help maintain a safe and relaxing driving experience for customers.

Installation

Find out more about how to install cabin air filters.
  • Following the car maker’s fitting instructions, locate the filter. Remove the filter, taking care not to knock any particles from the old filter into the cabin.

  • Insert the new cabin air filter into the designated filter box.

Fault finding

Cabin air filters can be kept in good condition with regular checks and replacements where necessary.

If a cabin air filter becomes too full of dirt, particles and pollutants, then it can stop working as effectively and even affect the performance of the HVAC system.

  • If you start to notice strange smells, sneeze or get eye irritation in the cabin, then this could be a sign that the cabin air filter needs changing.

  • A drop in the performance in the car’s HVAC system can also be an indicator.

To keep cabin air fresh, clean and safe to breathe it’s important that Cabin Air Filters are changed every 10-15,000 km, once a year, or as specified by the vehicle manufacturer. This is because cabin air filters become less efficient as dust and dirt builds up over time. Dirty filters can even harbor mildews and bacteria, causing allergies and discomfort. Failure to change a dirty filter will greatly reduce the air quality inside the vehicle. It can even affect the performance of the car’s air conditioning system.
