DENSO announces significant Lambda Sensors expansion

DENSO has further expanded its Lambda Sensor offering with the launch of its most significant aftermarket range extension since 2008. This expansion will better showcase DENSO’s leading Air/Fuel technology.

DENSO is delighted to announce the forthcoming extension of its OE quality Lambda Sensors range with the addition of 30 new part references, covering 60 OE part numbers and 155 applications. This expansion will bring the total number of part numbers to 447 and coverage to 7,621 vehicle applications.

Increasing demand and on-going changes in emissions regulations means that lambda sensors represent huge value sales potential for the aftermarket

24 sensors from the new range extension are equipped with the extremely high sensitive A/F technology which is developed by DENSO and has a linear output to help vehicles meet the ever-tightening emission regulations.

As one of the leading global suppliers of lambda sensors, DENSO has several hundred million of its devices measuring the air/fuel mixture in cars worldwide. As emission standards throughout the automotive industry continue to improve, DENSO’s development in engineering expertise means that lambda sensors become more advanced – featuring pioneering sensor technologies that help cars to burn fuel more efficiently and produce fewer emissions.

“Increasing demand and on-going changes in emissions regulations means that lambda sensors represent huge value sales potential for the aftermarket”, said Stefan Verhoef, DENSO Product Manager Lambda Sensors.

“DENSO A/F Sensors have been developed to offer a sensor with a linear output that helps vehicles to meet the restrictions of changing emission regulations. The majority of modern Engine Management Systems relies on such regulating sensors that can be found in front of the catalyst (or directly on them). When looking at regulating sensors specifically, the demand for more accurate feedback makes A/F the technology of choice as a preference over conventional switching sensors.”

Due to their special properties, genuine DENSO A/F sensors cannot be replaced by sensors that are produced by other manufacturers. Additionally, A/F sensors are designed per application and there are many different internal configurations, meaning that applying them on different vehicle types is very likely to fail.

There are numerous new vehicle applications covered by the range extension, including:

  • LEXUS RX 300/330/400h (03-08)
  • TOYOTA AURIS 1.6 (06-)/RAV4 III (05-)
