DENSO introduces its QR Code Maze Game!

DENSO invented the QR Code in 1994 and it is now a familiar icon on packaging, websites and many forms of print media, helping people all over the world to communicate, as well as providing access to data for companies and organisations globally

To celebrate this remarkable achievement, DENSO has chosen to combine the innovation of the QR Code and its commitment to a carbon neutral future with the fun and challenge of a computer game, so in April, DENSO introduced the QR Code Maze game.

The DENSO QR Code Maze is a free web browser-based game, which is easy to play and can be enjoyed solo or with up to five players at anytime, anywhere, without downloading software or any applications.

As the name suggests, the DENSO QR Code Maze game requires the players to navigate through city streets, as complex as a QR Code, while supplying it with energy. The player who best utilises their energy, managing both its surplus and shortage, and reaches the goal first, wins. The game is also a reminder that when all of society contributes to smart energy management, it not only conserves energy and resources, but leads to a sustainable future.

To help them achieve the goal, the website where the QR Code Maze game can be played – https://qrcodemaze.denso.com/en/ – also has the option of watching a preview movie of the game with tips such as: to keep an eye on the location of where the goal is, to go through energy share spots where you transfer energy from your battery to the city to boost your energy or, to turn the other player’s maps off for a few seconds to disorientate them!

During gameplay, items along the streets help boost players toward the finish and neon signs highlight several of DENSO’s pioneering developments, so take up the challenge, enjoy the fun and learn a little more about DENSO and its commitment to a carbon neutral future!
