DENSO Track2Track - Day 5

The DENSO Track 2 Track campaign featured its second flagship track event at Poznan in Poland and welcomed around 50 guests including members of the press and DENSO distributors.

As well as finding out all about the innovative new Iridium TT spark plug, our guests took part in a packed schedule of exciting on-track activity during which they got to try their hands at driving a Ferrari, Audi R8, Lotus Exige and Porsche 911.

The Polish Foltyn Rally Team was also on hand with their pair of Peugeot 208 Cup cars, giving guests a thrill on a purpose-built rally course.

All of our guests were tested in on-track activities and the quickest two slalom drivers in each group (12 in total) were also treated to a ‘hot lap’ of the Poznan circuit with their choice of Track 2 Track driver at the wheel – Rebecca Jackson or Natalia Freidina.

Today’s event was a truly European affair, with guests coming from all over Europe, including Poland, Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary.

Rebecca and Natalia also completed their second head-to-head Time Attack Challenge around the Poznan course. On her home turf in Russia on Monday, Natalia triumphed but today it was Rebecca who came out on top with the quickest lap time. That makes it honours even going into the final on-track event, which will be held at the culmination of Track 2 Track at Brands Hatch in the UK, on Nov 4.

There’s much more excitement to come before that, though, starting with the Track 2 Track crew getting back on the road tomorrow and travelling from Poland to the Czech Republic. There, they will visit the first of three of Europe’s ‘lost’ F1 circuits – Masaryk.

The circuit was used for Grands Prix in the 1930s and is close to what we now know as the current Brno circuit. We’re going to visit a handful of forgotten F1 circuits to reflect DENSO’s own rich heritage in motorsport and performance, so this will be a wonderful, if eerie, place to start.

Before we get there, though, we’ll also be dropping in on several Polish DENSO workshops and distributors to spread further the good news about the launch of Iridium TT.

It promises to be another packed but fascinating day and we can’t wait to share the pictures from what should be an evocative Masaryk circuit.
