DENSO recognised as one of Germany’s most innovative companies

For the fourth time, the German business magazine CAPITAL and the market research institute Statista have honoured Germany’s most innovative companies and this year, DENSO Automotive Deutschland, has been named among them

With an excellent rating of five stars, DENSO Automotive Deutschland received the award in the “Supplier Automotive & Commercial Vehicles” category, for companies with 251 to 1000 employees.

The “Germany’s Most Innovative Companies” study is an annual review conducted by CAPITAL and Statista to evaluate companies in their industries. Around 3,700 innovation experts were asked to rate companies across 20 sectors and industries, from the automotive industry to chemical sector, and the energy sector to the environment, and from a total number of 1,849 candidates, the panel filtered out 466 that it considered to be particularly innovative. DENSO Automotive Deutschland was graded in the top 25% of these companies and was therefore awarded the top, five-star rating.

However, in addition to the overall results, the average technological relevance of a patent portfolio or patent relevance was also measured as an indicator in the study. This is based on how often the patents are cited in other patents, adjusted for certain factors and, based on the analysis, DENSO Automotive Deutschland was identified as one of the companies whose patent portfolios are particularly relevant.

Established in Munich in 1984, DENSO Automotive Deutschland has since significantly expanded its business operations so that now its main business fields embrace the sale of automotive components, engineering services, design, testing and R&D. In addition, the company’s Eching operation has added a new car air conditioning testing facility, which is now DENSO’s base for its European material testing laboratory and for the European Technical Research team. Other growth includes the Aachen Engineering Centre that focuses on powertrain development, creating diesel fuel injection systems and components for electric and hybrid vehicles, and the ADAS Engineering Services office, dedicated to supporting customers in the field of advanced driver assistance systems.

With the establishment of these state-of-the-art facilities, DENSO Automotive Deutschland will continue to drive innovation, especially in the field of thermal technology and powertrain development within Germany and across the European region.
